Abstract

This study investigated the composition of crude oil at the molecular scale using comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography. The results of the investigation indicated the causative material for paraffin deposition at the wax appearance temperature. The two-dimensional gas chromatography can aid in the separation and analysis of the hydrocarbon bonding of structural isomers at the molecular scale, which is difficult to identify using the one-dimensional method. The causative material was identified from the distribution and content of normal paraffin in the composition of crude oil using the analytical method.

이 연구에서는 카스피해 지역에서 원유 생산 시 파라핀 침적으로 유동성에 문제가 발생한 생산정의 원유와 왁스고형물을 대상으로 이차원 가스크로마토그래피 분석법을 이용하여 파라핀 침적 원인 물질을 규명하였다. 이차원 카스크로마토그래피 분석법은 원유의 구성물질을 분자 단위로 각각 판별할 수 있어, 원유가 WAT(Wax Appearance Temperature)에 도달 시 파라핀 침적을 유발하는 특정 물질을 확인할 수 있다. 이차원 분석법은 기존의 일차원 분석법으로는 확인이 어려웠던 구조이성질체의 탄화수소 결합구조체까지 분자 단위로 분석할 수 있어, 이를 통해 실험대상 원유에서 검출된 노말 파라핀에 분포와 함량 분석결로부터 파라핀 침적을 유발하는 특정 탄화수소(C₄₄H₉₀)를 확인하였다.
