Digital Innovation in Mining Industries 광산업에서의 디지털 이노베이션

Abstract

Productivity in the mining industry declined in the 2000s due to a slowdown in industrial innovation from the 1980s to the 1990s. Therefore, major mining companies attempted digital transformations to improve their responsiveness to changing environments at industrial sites, develop predictive maintenance systems, and prevent the loss of on-site support resources. This study reviews the automation and predictive maintenance systems that were introduced to the mining industry as major policy changes to promote the introduction of the 4th industrial revolution to the domestic mining industry.

1980년대부터 1990년대까지 산업혁신이 부진하여 2000년대 자원산업의 생산성이 감소하였다. 메이저 광업회사들은 디지털 전환을 시도하여 변화하는 현장에 대한 대응능력을 개선하고, 예측 점검 시스템을 마련하며, 현장 지원자원 손실의 방지 등을 실현하고자 하였다. 이 글에서는 메이저 광업회사들의 도입한 디지털 전환 주요 정책으로서 광산업에 대한 자동화와 예측 유지보수 시스템의 도입 사례를 검토하여 국내 광산업의 4차산업 도입을 촉진하고자 하였다.
