The 11^th Basic Plan for Electricity Supply and Demand was finalized in February 2025. According to the plan, in 2038, the model demand is 128.9 GW, additional demand 16.7 GW, and base demand 145.6 GW. The target demand will be 129.3 GW, after subtracting 16.3 GW of demand management from the base demand. Target capacity 157.8 GW is a value that reflects the reserve ratio 22% to the target demand. The required capacity 10.3 GW is derived by subtracting the confirmed conventional generation capacity and dissemination goal of renewable energy from the target capacity. The proportion of carbon-free generation sources such as nuclear power plants, renewable energy, clean hydrogen, and ammonia is expected to be 53% in 2030 and 70% in 2038. The 11^th plan is expected to contribute to economic growth and improvement of life by supplying stable and economical electricity in the mid- to long-term.
