This study presents a computational fluid dynamics (CFD)-based performance prediction of an axial fan designed for a smart mine ventilation system. The fan was modeled based on actual design specifications, and numerical simulations were performed using ANSYS CFX under steady-state conditions. The SST(Shear Stress Transport) turbulence model and the frozen-rotor approach were applied to capture the characteristics of the rotating flow. The computational domain included both internal and extended external flow regions to improve solution stability. CFD results were validated against experimental data obtained from a fan test facility within an acceptable margin of error. The results confirm that the proposed CFD model can effectively predict fan performance under variable frequency conditions. This approach can be used as a reliable tool for design validation and optimization of axial fans in mine ventilation systems.
