Abstract
Dioctahedral smectite was syntheized from dickite by a hydrothermal method at 290℃ under the pressure of 70 kgf/cm2 for 72hours. The crystallization of smectite was favoured by heating of starting material at 800℃. The synthesized smectite was characterized by XRD, IR, TG, DTA, SEM, TEM, EDS, XRF and ICP. IR spectrum of synthesized smectite exihibited Al-O-H bending vibration of 818 and 770cm-1 which was typical for pure beidellite. The formation mechanism of beidellite from dickite appears to be the dissolution and recrystallization process. The addition of seed in the hydrothemal reaction increases the crystallinity of the product noticibly, suggesting the syntaxial growth process. EF-TEM showed ring patterns at 4.43, 2.52, 2.22, 1.67, 1.47, 1.27, 1.23Å and showed 10.0Å parallel lattice images that coincided with the basal spacing of dehydrated beidellite. The CEC, Methylene Blue Dye and swelling capacity were determined to be 116-118 cmol/kg, 84-91% and 29-32 ml/2g, respectively. The chemical composition of the synthesized phase was identified as Na0.5Al2.5Si3.5O10(OH)2 from EDS and XRF analysis.
딕카이트를 출발물질로 하여 반응온도 290℃, 70 kgf/cm2의 압력조건에서 스멕타이트를 수열합성하였으며, 합성결과물은 XRD, IR, TG, DTA, SEM, TEM, EDS, XRF 및 ICP를 사용하여 특성분석을 하였다. IR 분석결과, 순수한 바이델라이트에서 관찰되는 특징적인 흡수띠인 818 및 770cm-1피크가 관찰되었다. 구조식은 Na0.5Al2.5 Si3.5O10(OH)2이었다. 반응시간에 따른 SEM 분석결과, 딕카이트로부터 바이델라이트의 형성은 첨가된 seed를 중심으로 한 신택셜 그로스로 판단되었다. EF-TEM 분석결과, 4.43Å, 2.52Å, 2.22Å 등에서 뚜렷한 회절환이 관찰됐으며, 10Å의 평행격자상이 나타났다. CEC, MB 시험 및 팽윤도를 측정 결과, 각각 116-118 cmol/kg, 84-91%, 29-32 ml/2g으로 양호한 결과를 나타내었다.
