Abstract
This paper assessed photovoltaic potential in Ulleung-Do. Toward this aim, geographic information systems (GIS) was used to extract the feasible areas and to analyze optimal site of photovoltaic systems considering geographical, topographical and environmental characteristics of Ulleung-Do. Restricted areas by legal, ecological and environmental conditions were determined. Then, suitability analysis was conducted to identify areas satisfying the criteria of altitude, slope and daylight duration. The photovoltaic potential was evaluated using data on solar irradiance of Ulleung-Do and RETScreen software. Solar irradiance of Ulleung-Do was estimated by substituting relative sunshine duration data to the interaction formula of relative sunshine duration and irradiance of Gangneung and Pohang which is close to Ulleung-Do and border the seaside. Using the estimated solar irradiance, photovoltaic potential in Ulleung-Do is calculated as 43.6 GWh/yr, approximately.
본 연구에서는 울릉도를 대상으로 태양광 발전 잠재량 평가를 수행하였다. 이를 위해 울릉도의 지리적, 지형적, 환경적 특성을 종합적으로 반영하여 태양광 발전 입지 선정 조건을 수립하고, 지리정보시스템(Geographic Information Systems, GIS)을 이용하여 태양광 발전 시스템의 적지를 추출하였다. 법적, 생태・환경적 규제로 인하여 개발이 불가능한 지역을 배제하였고, 표고, 지형경사 및 음영 조건에 의한 일조시간 기준을 만족하는 태양광 발전 시설의 적지를 추출하였다. 추출된 적지에 대하여 울릉도의 일사량 자료와 RETScreen 소프트웨어를 이용하여 태양광 발전 잠재량을 산정하였다. 울릉도의 일사량 자료의 경우, 계측 자료가 부족 하여 울릉도와 가깝고 해안에 접한 강릉과 포항 지역의 일조율과 일사량의 관계식을 도출한 뒤, 울릉도의 일조율 자료를 대입하여 추정하였다. 분석 결과, 울릉도의 태양광 발전 잠재량은 약 43.6 GWh/yr로 산정되었다.
