The porosity, the pore size distribution and the bulk density of porous calcium hydroxide material, which were important characteristics of porous material obtained by foaming method, were studied according to the various extended volume ratios of slurry in the foaming process. The increase of extension ratio of slurry causes the increase of porosity from 55% to 85% of porous body and has an effect on the variation of the pore size distribution. Based on image analysis, the pores of the porous calcium hydroxide material were larger than those of porous silica or alumina materials. It was examined the cause of the relatively large pore formation in porous calcium hydroxide material by observing the surface charge properties of several powders and the adsorption properties of surfactants on powders using measurements of a zeta-potential of powder surface and a surface tension of solution, respectively.
소석회 슬러리를 포말화함으로서 제조된 다공성 세라믹의 물성들인 겉보기 밀도와 기공율, 기공크기분포 등의 변화를 포말화비에 따라 살펴보았다. 포말화공정에서 포말화비가 증가함에 따라 다공체의 기공율이 55%에서 85%까지 증가하였으며, 기공율의 변화가 기공크기분포에도 영향을 주었다. 같은 공정으로 제조한 알루미나, 실리카 다공체와 기공특성을 화상해석을 통해 비교한 결과 알루미나, 실리카 다공체의 평균기공크기보다 소석회의 평균기공크기가 더 큰 것을 확인하였다. 이 세 가지 분말의 표면특성과, 계면활성제의 흡착특성을 각각 표면전위 측정과 액중 계면장력 측정을 통해 조사함으로써 소석회의 기공크기가 상대적으로 더 커진 원인을 검정하였다.
