Abstract
Heavy minerals contents distribution characteristics of Choong-nam province beach sand was investigated. A basic study on heavy mineral concentration from this sand was also performed using shaking table. The species of heavy mineral in heavy sands were determined using XRD & image analysis. Chemical contents of them were analysed by XRF for different size range. Separation efficiency of shaking table was evaluated for Jangpo beach sand in which heavy mineral content was about 3.5%. There were some heavy minerals like ilmenite, zircon, garnet and staurolite in the heavy concentrate. The difference of the cumulative recoveries among various sand sizes were not remarkable. But the grade of heavy mineral increased as the sand particle size decreased. In the case of particles under 0.15mm, separation efficiency was 77%. The recovery and the grade were 88% and 87% respectively, for the same particles sample.
충남지역 해사에 대한 중광물 분포특성 및 요동테이블(shaking table)을 이용한 유용광물(heavy minerals) 회수에 대한 기초연구를 수행하였다. XRD와 화상해석기를 이용하여 중사 내 광물종을 조사하였으며, XRF를 이용하여 해사의 입도크기에 따른 화학성분 조성을 관찰하였다. 또한 중사함량이 약 3.5wt.%인 장포지역 해변사를 대상으로 요동테이블 이용한 선별효율을 평가하였다. 비중선별에 의해 회수된 중사는 티탄철석, 지르콘, 석류석 그리고 십자석과 같은 광물이 함유되어 있었다. 입도변화에 따른 누적회수율의 차이는 크지 않았으나, 입도가 작아질수록 중사의 품위는 증가하였다. 0.15mm이하 입자의 경우 선별효율은 약 77%이었으며, 회수율은 88%, 중사품위는 87%였다.
