The extraction characteristics and stoichiometric relation for the solvent extraction of cobalt was studied with D2EHPA(Di-2-Ethylhexyl Phosphoric Acid). The results showed that the extraction efficiency of cobalt increased with increasing equilibrium pH of solution and concentration of D2EHPA as extractant at the same pH condition. On the other hand, the cobalt was extracted by solvated organo-metal compound with two molecules of the D2EHPA monomer like [CoR2․2RH] and the extracted species were not associated with each other. The extraction relation and equilibrium constant would be as follows:
[Co2+]aq + 2[R2H2]org = [CoR2․2RH]org + 2[H+]aq, Kc=1.32×10-4.
D2EHPA에 의한 코발트의 용매추출시 추출특성과 화학양론적 관계에 대해 조사하였다. 실험결과 코발트의 추출율은 수용액의 평형 pH와 추출제인 D2EHPA의 농도가 증가할수록 증가하였다. 한편 코발트는 D2EHPA monomer 2개와 용매화(Solvation)되어 [CoR2․2RH]종으로 추출되며, 추출종은 서로 회합하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이때 코발트의 화학양론적 추출반응식과 평형상수는 다음과 같다.[Co2+]aq + 2[R2H2]org = [CoR2․2RH]org + 2[H+]aq, Kc=1.32×10-4.
