An Induced Effect Analysis for the Oil and Gas E&P Industry of Australia, Norway, and the US 주요국 석유 · 가스개발산업의 유발효과 분석

Abstract

This study analyzed the forward linkage effect, backward linkage effect, and induced effects of oil and gas E&P projects using the latest Input-Output Statistics in Australia, Norway, and the US. According to the analysis results, the dependence of the oil and gas E&P industry in Norway was high. Australia and the US had large figures in both forward and backward linkage effects. The share of the value-added to GDP of the oil and gas E&P industry in Norway was greater than that of Australia and the US, but smaller than that of Australia and the US in the forward linkage effect. This means that the economic effect is not determined by the value-added share of the industry but by its relationship with related industries. If Korea's oil and gas E&P projects establish relationships with related industries, the economic effects can be improved, which ultimately contributes to economy.

본 연구는 석유･가스개발사업의 경제적 효과를 추정하기 위하여 호주, 노르웨이, 미국의 최신 공표 산업연관표를 이용하여 석유･가스개발사업의 부가가치, 전방연쇄효과, 후방연쇄효과, 유발효과를 추정하였다. 분석 결과에 따르면, 노르웨이 석유･가스산업의 부가가치 비중이 컸고, 이 산업에 대한 의존이 높았다. 그리고 호주와 미국은 전방연쇄효과와 후방연쇄효과가 모두 컸다. 노르웨이는 GDP 대비 부가가치 비중이 호주, 미국보다 컸지만, 전방연쇄효과에서는 호주, 미국보다 작았다. 이는 산업의 경제적 영향력이 경제 전체에서 차지하는 비중으로 결정되는 것이 아니라, 해당 산업을 지탱하는 연관산업들과의 관계에 따른다는 것을 의미한다. 우리나라의 석유･가스개발사업이 관련 산업들과의 연관관계를 구축하고 생태계를 형성하는 것이 경제적 효과를 보다 크게 하는 방법이며, 이는 궁극적으로 우리나라의 경제에 기여한다.
