Economic Impacts of the Oil Information Provided via the Petronet 페트로넷(Petronet) 석유정보의 경제적 파급효과: 김재경

Abstract

By using the supply-driven Input-Output model, this study aims to examine the economic impactsof the oil information provided via the Petronet, which is a internet based multimedia intelligence networkconstructing the database of information related to petroleum and servicing them to users. The oil information,as a kind of Public Sector Information serving mainly and originally public administration and defense sector,didn’t turn only out to be provided for some service sectors such as wholesale & retail trade, transportation,research & development, education, finance & insurance and newspapers directly, but to be also conducive tothe production activities in construction sector as well as a few manufacturing sectors including electronic &electrical equipment and transportation equipment indirectly. The total economic benefit of the oil informationproviding service was also estimated to be about 209.8 million won, which was 1.73 times more than the valueof information provided via the Petronet.

본 연구는 공공기관인 한국석유공사가 페트로넷을 통해 공급하는 석유정보의 경제적 파급효과를 공급유도형 산업연관모형을 활용하여 추정하였다. 석유정보는 공공정보의 하나로서, 공공부문의 정책적 의사결정지원이라는 본연의 기능 및 역할을 하고 있다. 공공부문 이외에도, 직접적으로 도소매업(주유소 등), 운수업,전문, 과학 및 기술서비스, 교육, 금융, 신문 등에서 활용되고 있으며, 간접적으로는 건설업, 전기 및 전자기기,운송장비 제조업 등에 주로 파급되어 생산 활동에 기여하고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 페트로넷을 통해 1백만원 상당한 새로운 석유정보가 생산, 배포될 경우, 국민경제 전반적으로는 약 1.73백만원 정도의 생산 활동을지지해 주어, 전체적으로 약 209.8백만원 상당의 경제적 편익을 발생시키는 것으로 추정되었다. 이러한 결과는현재 한국석유공사가 운영하고 있는 석유정보의 생산 및 유통관련 사업이 국가 경제적 차원에서도 중요함을보여주는 것이라 할 수 있다.
