Mineral exploration for developed mineralized zone is trend in Korea with the rise of mineral priceand the improvement of exploration techniques. In this study, geochemical anomaly mapping was conducted tosupport mineral exploration in the Mt. Taebaek mineralized zone by analysis of stream sediment data. At first,anomalous value of sample was derived from the results of statistical methods that analyze concentrations ofone element. Secondly, outlier of sample was separated from the bulk of the data by regression analysis andresidual analysis considering two elements. Finally, a new method combined with GIS based catchment analysiswhich accounts for anomaly dilution was suggested to estimate a potential map of minerals. The results can provideuseful information on the reserves of the Mt. Taebaek mineralized zone. It is expected that the proposed methodcan be effectively used to analyze mineral potential and contribute to the development of exploration techniques.
광물자원의 가격상승과 기술의 발달로 인해 과거 개발되었던 유망 광화대에 대한 재탐사 요구가 증가하고 있다. 본 연구의 목적은 남부 태백산 광화대 지역의 금속원소 이상값 분포를 분석하고 GIS를 이용한 공간적·통계적 분석 기법을 이용하여 지구화학적 이상대를 평가하는 것이다. 금속원소들의 분포를 파악하기 위해단일변수 통계기법을 적용하여 원소별 이상값을 파악하였고, 지구화학적으로 거동이 유사한 원소들 간의 회귀분석 및 잔차분석을 통해 새로운 이상값 분석을 수행하였다. 또한 새로운 금속부존 잠재지역을 찾기 위해 GIS공간분석기법을 이용하여 집수면적과 원소 함량간의 상관성을 분석하고 이를 고려한 평가기법을 제안하였다.남부 태백산 광화대 지역을 대상으로 분석을 수행한 결과, 기존에 개발되었거나 원소함량이 높은 지역 외의새로운 지역을 금속부존 유망지역으로서 제안할 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 개발된 기법은 기존에 발견되지 않은신규 잠재광상을 찾는데 기여할 수 있으며 3차원 광체모델링 등의 최신 기술과 결합하여 광물자원 탐사기술의발전에 기여할 것으로 기대된다.
