Abstract
A study on the leaching characteristics of Mn and Ni from manganese nodules and crust had been conducted through the reductive leaching with sulfur dioxide gas. The effects of solid density, reaction temperature and flow rate and partial pressure of SO2 on the leaching of Mn and Ni were examined. The results showed that the leaching efficiencies of Mn and Ni increased with increasing the reaction temperature and decreasing the solid density. And activation energy of the reduction reaction was 2.53 Kcal/mole for Mn and 2.78 Kcal/mole for Ni, respectively, which indicated the transportation of sulfur dioxide gas in the solution was rate determining step of this reaction. When manganese nodules of -20 mesh was leached for 100 minutes at solid dendity of 4.8 wt.% and 50oC with the SO2 gas of 0.3 atm and 60 ml/min, the leaching efficiencies of Mn and Ni were appeared to be more than 98%.
망간단괴의 아황산가스에 의한 환원침출시 망간과 니켈의 침출거동에 대해 조사하였다. 실험결과 광액농도가 낮을수록 그리고 반응온도가 높을수록 망간과 니켈의 침출속도 및 침출율이 증가하고 있다. 한편 활성화에너지는 망간의 경우는 2.53 Kcal/mole 그리고 니켈은 2.78 Kcal/mole로, 환원침출반응은 용액중에서 아황산가스의 전달이 율속단계인 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 망간단괴중 망간과 니켈의 침출에 있어 SO2 분압 변화의 영향은 없는 것으로 나타났다. 망간단괴를 광액농도는 4.8 wt.%, 반응온도는 50oC로 하고, SO2의 분압과 유량은 0.3 atm 및 60 ml/min으로 조절하여 100분 정도 침출하면 망간과 니켈을 98% 이상 침출할 수 있다.
