In this study, application of hydrocylone for dewatering system of manganese nodules lifted with sea water was examined. For this, separation of size controlled manganese nodule was conducted using a small hydrocyclone. Performance curve and dilution ratio were obtained from the experimental results. The cut point, , and imperfection, I, were about 20㎛ and 0.125 respectively. Pulp density of underflow was 86.8 wt.% and dilution ratio of underflow was 0.15 in case of the hydraulic lifting system for manganese nodules. From the results, it was considered that a hydrocyclone can be applied to the hydraulic lifting system for dewatering manganese nodules.
본 연구에서는 습식사이클론에 의한 망간단괴와 해수 분리의 타당성을 검토하였다. 이를 위해 소형의 습식사이클론을 사용하여 입도가 조절된 망간단괴의 분리실험을 행하였으며 분리곡선을 작성하여 분리효율과 희석률(dilution ratio)을 계산하였다. 평가결과 분리입도 은 20㎛이였으며 이 때의 분리효율(imperfection)은 0.125이었다. 이때 습식사이클론을 이용하여 고-액 2상류를 분리할 경우, 하향흐름(underflow)의 광액농도는 약 86.8wt%(희석률 0.15)로 습식사이클론을 양광시스템의 분리장치로 사용하는 것이 가능하다고 판단되었다.
