Abstract
This article presents an overview of nanotechnologies applied to EOR (Enhanced Oil Recovery). Nanoparticles have their own optical, magnetic and electrical properties so that they could improve significantly productivity of residual oil in a pore scale. The specialized emulsion manufactured by nanoparticles could improve the recovery efficiency by altering wettability, viscosity or mobility in a pore-scale formation unlike a typical polymer flooding. Various nanoparticles were used in lab-scaled experiments and confirmed their applicability but were not obtained the actual field application. Nano-researches are still in a fundamental stage or an initial substantiation but will be enough to be an innovation to overcome the technical stagnation of typical EOR methods.
이 논문은 석유회수증진 분야에 활용 가능한 나노기술의 연구현황에 대해 소개하였다. 최근 회수증진 분야의 나노기술은 주입수, 폴리머에 나노입자를 유화액 형태로 저류층에 주입하는 연구이다. 나노입자는 기존 주입유체가 도달하지 못한 공극규모에 주입되어 석유이동에 영향을 미칠 뿐만 아니라, 유착도, 점성도, 이동도를 변화시킬 수 있어 회수효과를 높인다. 나노입자는 각 연구마다 다양하게 사용되고 실험실규모의 효과는 증명되고 있으나 현장단위의 평가는 미흡하다. 주입 유체의 이동효율 향상을 목표로 한 기존 석유회수증진 기술에 비해 주입 물질과 저류암의 물성 변화에 초점을 맞춘 나노기술 연구는 새로운 혁신이 될 가능성이 크다.
