The stoichiometric relation for the solvent extraction of zirconium and hafnium from hydrochloric acid solution was studied with Versatic Acid-10, respectively. The results showed that the zirconium was solvated with two molecules of the Versatic Acid-10 monomer like [ZrOR2·2RH] and the hafnium was not solvated with Versatic Acid-10 and extracted as [HfR4]. And the extracted species of zirconium and hafnium were not associated with each other. The extraction relation and equilibrium constant would be as follows:For zirconium, [ZrO2+]aq + 2[R2H2]org = [ZrOR2·2RH]org + 2[H+]aq , Kc = 4.385×10-4For hafnium, [Hf4+]aq + 2[R2H2]org = [HfR4]org + 4[H+]aq , Kc = 6.918×10-12
염산용액중 지르코늄과 하프늄의 Versatic Acid-10에 의한 용매추출시 화학양론적 추출관계에 대해 조사하였다. 실험결과 지르코늄은 Versatic Acid-10 monomer 2개와 용매화(Solvation)되어 [ZrOR2·2RH] 종으로 추출되며, 추출종은 서로 회합하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 한편 하프늄은 Versatic Acid-10과 용매화(Solvation)가 없는 HfR4 종으로 유기상에 추출되며, 역시 추출종은 서로 회합하지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 이때 지르코늄과 하프늄의 화학양론적 추출반응식과 평형상수는 다음과 같다.지르코늄의 경우, [ZrO2+]aq + 2[R2H2]org = [ZrOR2·2RH]org + 2[H+]aq, Kc = 4.385×10-4하프늄의 경우, [Hf4+]aq + 2[R2H2]org = [HfR4]org + 4[H+]aq , Kc = 6.918×10-12
