Improving Land Subsurface Imaging using Seismic Interferometry 지진파 간섭법을 적용한 육상 지하영상화 개선 연구

Abstract

Seismic reflection can provide precise estimates of subsurface structures. To obtain more information on subsurfaces using the same amount of reflection data, we first compared reverse time migration (RTM) images obtained from surface seismic profile (SSP), vertical seismic profile (VSP), and single well profile (SWP) data for models that included faults with various dips. When data were sufficient, SSP, SWP, and VSP surveys were suitable for identifying horizontal structures, structures with steep slopes, and vertical structures and horizontal structures near wells, respectively. An appropriate interferometry method was selected after considering the advantages and disadvantages of each survey when using either SSP or VSP data or both, when using an inaccurate velocity model for RTM, and when noise was added to the SSP data. The estimated RTM images were observed to be improved when interferometry was applied.

반사법 탄성파탐사는 지하구조를 정밀하게 규명할 수 있는 방법이다. 이 연구에서는 같은 양의 반사법 탐사 자료에서 더 많은 지하정보를 얻기 위해 지표 탄성파탐사(SSP, surface seismic profile), 수직 탄성파탐사(VSP, vertical seismic profile) 및 단일시추공 탐사(SWP, single well profile) 자료에 대한 지하영상을 비교 분석하여 각 탐사 방법의 장점을 부각하고 단점을 보완할 수 있는 지진파 간섭법을 적용하였다. 먼저 여러 가지 경사각의 단층대를 포함한 속도모델에 대해 SSP, VSP 및 SWP 합성자료를 생성하고 지하영상을 비교 분석하였다. 탐사 자료가 충분할 때 SSP 탐사는 수평구조 규명에, SWP 탐사는 경사가 심한 구조 규명에 적합하며, VSP 탐사는 시추공 근처의 수평구조 및 수직구조 규명에 적합함을 확인하였다. 또한 SSP 자료와 VSP 자료를 단독으로 또는 결합하여 이용하는 경우, 부정확한 속도모델을 이용하는 경우, 그리고 잡음이 존재하는 경우의 각각에 대해 적합한 지진파 간섭법을 적용함으로써 지하영상화 결과가 개선되었음을 확인하였다.
