A Study was made on a model which was intended to simulate the self-potential phenomena existing near conducting ore bodies in nature.This model consisted of a electrically polarized material placed in a tank containing water and of a measuring equipment to determine potential profiles at the water level.Some theoretical considerations in the self-potential method were made including the case of a finite dipping dyke.The experimental results observed in the vicinity of a polarized cylinder have been compared with those curves obtained theoretically.
